Presidents Message 2010-2011
THE COUNTRY STORE
This year our Rotary Club of Rio Rancho will have a big part in the New Mexico State Fair. Our Club is running the “Country Store”, which is located, “On the Avenue”, right across from the Manuel Lujan building. Through the years the Country Store has built a reputation for selling the best New Mexico theme merchandise in the state. The Fair runs from September 10-26, 2010 (closed Mondays and Tuesdays).
We need volunteers to help run the Country Store. The profit that we make from the store will go to our Club and help fund the many needy projects that Rotary sponsors. This is our one big fund raising event of the year and we need every Rio Rancho Rotary member, and your family and friends, to come help out for these thirteen days. Earl Waid will have a sign up sheet at our Tuesday noon meetings or you are welcome to contact him directly to reserve the times you would like to work.
CHILE CLUB
Brand Marsh is our first Green Chile Club member. Brad sponsored our first new member of the Rotary year, Ed McBride, into our Club and is the first member to receive the prize, one month of free Rotary lunch. Thank you Brand and welcome Ed. We have several more new members in the pipeline so there will soon be more members that get lunch for free. Remember the more members that you sponsor the more free lunch you receive.
The Rio Rancho Club is a fantastic group of people with a rich history. We have given back to the community and the world in many wondrous projects for many years. And the best part is that we have only just begun.
On August 5th our Foreign Exchange Student, Martin Gerber, will arrive from Switzerland to experience the American way of life. As always we will welcome him with open arms and know that, yet again, our Club is making a difference in another person’s life.
This year we will also focus on new members. The Board of Directors has created a generous incentive program for our membership in the form of “THE CHILE CLUB”. Proving, there is such a thing as a free lunch. The program is as follows:

• 2 New Members – Red Chile Club: 2 month free lunch; PLUS Governor’s Silver Level, 2 move passes, Rotary t-shirt
• 3 New Members – Red & Green Club: 6 months free lunch; PLUS Governor’s Gold Level & dinner for two with District Governor
• 5 New Members – Smokin’ Hot Club: One year free Rotary Lunch; Plus Governor’s Platinum Level, entry in drawing for two on District Vacation and entry for two roundtrip airline tickets.
Please stay involved in our Club. We are doing some great things and making a difference in the world.
